I started running in 2009 by joining Portland Fit. The three mile run on the first Saturday was the longest distance I had ever run and 6 months later I finished my first marathon. I truly went from couch to marathon through this program which is a big part of why I enjoy being an assistant coach. It has been a few years since my last marathon, so my goal, like so many others in this program, is simply to train for and complete the Portland marathon.
